This project aims to make the artworks stored in archives and artist studios in the city of Zug accessible to the public through an art lending library. Based on this idea, Aurelio Todisco, in cooperation with the Zug Library and the Zug Cultural Office, planned and implemented a «Pop-Up Art Library». He was responsible for project management, planning and implementation of the service process, and the opening exhibition at the Zug Art Night 2021.
During the Zug Art Night on September 19, 2021, over 200 visitors had the opportunity to choose from 28 exhibited artworks in the atrium of the Zug Library for borrowing. At the same time, they could engage in personal conversations with the artists of these works during a «Living Library» event. Six artists volunteered to present themselves and their artworks at the opening exhibition and subsequently make the works available for borrowing for six months. The following week, the reserved artworks could be picked up at the Zug Library and borrowed free of charge for six months. In total, 17 artworks were borrowed, 5 were purchased directly, and 5 were purchased after the six-month borrowing period.
