The integration of refugees often proves to be difficult in Switzerland. In the case of undocumented migrants (Sans-Papiers), exclusion is also a common occurrence. Therefore, organizations in cities are striving to enable participation for those affected. Examples of this are the City-Card projects in Zurich and Bern, the Bleibe-Guides in Basel and Zurich, as well as the recently launched Berner City-Mapping project. The project «Luzern für Alle» (Lucerne for Everyone), designed by Aurelio Todisco as his final project for the Master’s in Design, proposes an innovative and easily implementable solution for Lucerne. It aims to provide access to solidarity structures and participation in urban life for all those seeking assistance. Additionally, it seeks to better connect locals, authorities, and assisting organizations. «Luzern für Alle» was created in cooperation with the association HelloWelcome and the Contact and Advisory Center for Sans-Papiers Lucerne, both members of the «Bündnis Solinetz» Lucerne. It combines a digital platform (app), public events, and opportunities for participation. Currently, guided city tours and a round table discussion are planned as public events to promote social exchange. The app, on the other hand, gathers integration and free offerings from solidarity-based and public institutions. Help seekers can search for available services, locate event venues using a map function, and register directly if necessary. Furthermore, organizations, municipal authorities, and private individuals have the opportunity to publicly showcase their offerings on a contributions page. The project is designed to be open and offers everyone interested the opportunity to actively participate. Aurelio Todisco utilized design research methods to analyze and investigate the situation and implement the project. It was important to him that the target audience and project partners participate in the implementation. The project is supported by the alliance «Solinetz Luzern».
